Design problem

The project faced a complex design problem-it needed to be markerless, reliable, easily accessible, and enjoyable for both children and adults, a task that required innovative solutions and meticulous planning.

Solution

More.is.More created a 3D scan of the entire room and used the augg.io framework to reliably solve marker-less localization in the digital copy. This allowed artists to focus on accurately recreating the digital Fin Whale, a beautiful water effect on the ceiling, and other aquatic life.

This impressive 23-meter-long fin whale skeleton has been a dominant feature of the National Museum in Prague for over 130 years. It has been present in the building since its beginning. Because of this, the result had to be perfect.

The final AR application was integrated into the National Museum's native application, which also serves as a digital guide.
